Understanding how visitors experience culture
Cultural spaces welcome thousands of visitors with very different interests, journeys and dwell times.
Without objective information, it is difficult to know which exhibitions generate the most interest, how the public is distributed within the building or which areas concentrate the most activity.
CaixaForum wanted to answer questions such as:
- How many visitors does each center receive?
- How does footfall evolve throughout the day?
- Which exhibitions generate the most interest?
- What journeys do visitors take?
- How long do they stay in each space?
- How can the distribution of resources and staff be optimized?
- How can behavior be compared across different cultural centers?
The need was not only to measure visitors, but to have information that would help improve both the cultural experience and operational efficiency.
Real-time intelligence to better manage cultural spaces
Flame Analytics deployed an artificial-intelligence-based video analytics solution across the entire CaixaForum network, using more than 250 sensors to capture information continuously and in a fully anonymized way.
The platform makes it possible to analyze indicators such as footfall, occupancy, visitor journeys, distribution by zone and dwell time across the different exhibitions.
Thanks to this data, teams can better understand how visitors interact with the spaces and optimize both exhibition planning and resource allocation.
All the information is presented through dynamic dashboards and can be integrated with other data analytics platforms, providing a unified view of the cultural centers' performance.
A project for the whole CaixaForum network
The solution was rolled out consistently across all CaixaForum centers in Spain, making it possible to compare indicators between sites and have a common methodology to analyze visitor behavior.
This network-wide view makes it easier to identify trends, share best practices and support strategic decision-making at a national level.
Data to improve the cultural experience
With Flame Analytics, CaixaForum has continuous information about how its cultural spaces are performing.
Teams can analyze the evolution of visitors, detect peak footfall hours, study behavior in the exhibitions and optimize the use of each space based on real data.
This information supports decisions related to:
- Exhibition planning.
- Occupancy management.
- Resource allocation.
- Journey design.
- Improving the visitor experience.
From counting visitors to cultural-space intelligence
The project marks a step forward in CaixaForum's digital transformation strategy.
The information generated by the platform makes it possible to understand how visitors interact with the cultural spaces and turn that knowledge into a tool to optimize management, improve the experience and plan future initiatives with greater precision.
Thanks to Flame Analytics, CaixaForum gains a data-driven view that enables more efficient management and an increasingly personalized cultural experience.
